Are Anonymous LLC’s The Answer to Protecting Personal Privacy in the Digital Age?

Two weeks ago, the doorbell rang at US District Court Judge Esther Salas’s home in New Jersey.  At the door, posing as a delivery person, was a gunman.  As the door was opened, the man fired on Judge Salas’s husband and 20-year-old son. Judge Salas’s son was killed and her husband, seriously injured, still remains hospitalized today after the brutal attack. Judge Salas and her family had been targeted by an “Anti-feminist” activist. The gunman, Roy Den Hollander, died by suicide not long after the assault.  Investigators working the case found among Mr. Hollander’s possessions compilations of detailed information on Judge Salas, her family and other would- be targets for murder.  More disturbing was that the information Hollander had acquired to hunt Judge Salas as well as other potential victims, had been gathered from a series of simple internet searches on Hollander’s home computer.

In a video posted to YouTube, Judge Salas said the gunman who came to her home had easily obtained her families’ information. She indicated that federal judges’ addresses and other information is readily available on the internet and that there are companies selling personal data that can be “leveraged for nefarious purposes,” she says.

“In my case, the monster knew where I lived and what church we attended and had a complete dossier on me and my family. At the moment there is nothing we can do to stop it, and that is unacceptable,” she said. “My son’s death cannot be in vain, which is why I am begging those in power to do something to help my brothers and sisters on the bench.”   https://abcnews.go.com/US/judge-salas-breaks-silence-heartbreaking-video-tribute-sons/story?id=72143701

Sadly, the best reason for utilizing Anonymous LLC’s are the disturbing and all too often tragic circumstances plaguing high profile individuals such as Judge Salas. Modern technology makes it simple for business and personal information to be searched, and the toxic political environment makes it easy for disturbed individuals to seek out their ideological opposites and “make it personal”.  Personal information, if not insulated in some way, is only a few clicks of the mouse away on all of us.

The Anonymous LLC is critical to personal safety, as it allows for citizens to conduct business without placing themselves or their family at risk of harm or harassment.

An Anonymous LLC is defined as a limited liability company whose owners are not publicly identifiable by the state. L4SB was the first law firm to provide an Anonymous LLC service to the public, by avoiding public disclosure of ownership (i.e. Members) information of the LLC in the state in which the LLC is registered. This is accomplished by registering a normal, regular LLC carefully and lawfully, in the states that permit anonymity and/or creating a parent/child arrangement, where the parent company is an Anonymous LLC acting as a Holding Company, and which owns a lawful Operating Company in the State (or States) where you are conducting business.

An “Anonymous LLC” is a regular LLC registered by Law 4 Small Business in such a way, as to prevent public disclosure of ownership information.  Law 4 Small Business acts as the organizer and registered agent for the Anonymous LLC in select states and utilizes its status as a law firm to convey attorney-client privilege and confidentiality.

Businesses, trusts, real estate, investments and other assets can all be held in an Anonymous LLC. Thus, making it difficult for those intending harm to identify and locate individuals, their residence or places of work through online searches. The Anonymous LLC is regularly recommended by attorneys, accountants, estate planners and financial advisors around the country to help shield high profile or vulnerable clients from the prying eyes of the public.

The rapid sharing of ideas and information has diminished privacy.  The Anonymous LLC is one of the few legal tools available to save it.

Does your business, profession or personal affiliations leave you vulnerable to harassment or threat?  Have you been the victim of stalking or domestic violence?
